You Are Enough: A Reflection Inspired by Enough As She Is

ree

Every now and then, a book finds its way into your hands at exactly the right moment—one that speaks to the quiet parts of your heart you didn’t even realize needed attention. Enough As She Is has been that book for me. I wasn't planning to discuss a book this month, but I was so motivated to discuss this book that I made an exception. Hopefully, you'll make time to read it and discuss it while you're home with your kids.

As women, we carry so much. Expectations. Responsibilities. Standards we never agreed to. Narratives we inherited. And somewhere along the way, we start believing that “enough” is something we earn rather than something we already are. We strive, push, and stretch ourselves thin trying to prove a worth that was never in question.

This book gently disrupts that cycle.

Through stories, research, and honest reflection, Enough As She Is reminds us that our girls—and we—are living in a world full of comparison, pressure, and performance. And while the book focuses on helping young women navigate these challenges, I quickly realized that the message is for us, too. Because if we want the girls in our lives to believe they are enough, we have to believe it first.

Reading this book made me pause and ask myself:

  • Where in my life am I still chasing perfection?

  • What expectations am I holding onto that no longer serve me?

  • Who might I become if I truly believed I am already worthy—just as I am?

The answers weren’t always comfortable, but they were freeing.

And that’s why I want to open this conversation to our community.

Let’s Talk About It—Together

I’m hosting a book discussion on Enough As She Is, and I’d love for you to join me. Not just to talk about the book—but to talk about ourselves. Our stories. The truths we’re learning to embrace. The habits we’re unlearning. The pressure we’re ready to release.

This isn’t about having the perfect insight or reading every chapter twice. It’s about connection. Community. And carving out a space where we can be honest about the challenges we face and the grace we deserve.

Whether you’re a mother, aunt, mentor, educator, or simply a woman ready to rediscover her own strength, I believe this conversation will meet you exactly where you are.

This discussion is virtual, which means friends from across the country can join us—and even women who are traveling can participate from wherever they are.

Why This Conversation Matters

When we choose to step into authenticity, it ripples outward. Our daughters notice. Our friends notice. Our communities shift. And slowly, we replace pressure with presence, expectations with empathy, and comparison with connection.

We begin to model a different way of being—a way that says: “You don’t have to prove anything. You are already enough.”

Imagine what our world might look like if more of us believed that.
