The Legacy Journaling Experience: Connecting Through Reflection and Story

I had such a wonderful time leading a Legacy Journaling Experience for High Voltage! It was truly beautiful to watch the seniors pause, reflect, and celebrate the people, moments, and memories that have shaped who they are today. As they began to fill their trees with names, lessons, and memories, you could feel the gratitude in the room. Many shared how meaningful it was to take that walk down memory lane — some laughed, others teared up, and almost everyone said they couldn’t wait to hang their creations in their rooms as a reminder of who they are and the stories that connect them to the people they love.

While they took great pride in coloring their trees, this experience is more than just an art activity — it’s a moment of connection and self- discovery. Drawing inspiration from writing a chapter in The Heart of a Mother, each step in the process is intentionally designed to create space for meaningful reflection and authentic sharing. When we take time to honor our stories and listen to others, something special happens: barriers fade, understanding deepens, and relationships grow stronger.
